Over the River

September 2, 2008 - the Cincinnati Reds, the first professional baseball team (1869), were playing the Pittsburgh Pirates, around just about as long as the Reds. A hot, humid night, thunderstorms all around, lightning in the distance – and you walk from where you parked, on the Kentucky side of the river, across the bridge with the Ohio sliding along below you –

The walk over the bridge –

Below the bridge, riverboats, of course –

Covington, Kentucky, sitting quiet across the river –

In the distance, the empty football Stadium –

But we're here for the baseball –
