Thursday, May 15, 2008 – Chasing Chase in Malibu

The Art of Chase truck, parked in Malibu

You never meet the Los Angeles muralists – you just come across the murals.  But at the Malibu Country Mart, at Cross Creek Plaza, there was Chase's truck – but the artist/designer and Belgium transplant, who paints free murals around Los Angeles, the ones depicting young children with the text next to them saying "Remember Who You Are" – well, he wasn't there.  A friend had borrowed the truck.  Oh well, it's a good truck and we had a nice chat.

See The Art of Chase for more - in October 2006, Italian Vogue named Chase one of their five favorite street artists in the world, and there are more than sixty of his murals painted in the greater Los Angeles area and around the world, the appearances on television and in magazines, and his t-shirts and stencil paintings are available at Virgin Megastores and such.

Oh, and next to the Chase truck was this one (they clean up bird poop) –

That business depends on what's across the street, a Pelican Convention where Malibu Creek empties into the Malibu Lagoon at Pacific Coast Highway.
