Wednesday, July 23, 2008 – Hollywood Apparitions

Hollywood Boulevard was closed down at the Chinese Theater for the premiere of the new X-Files movie - lots of crowd barriers and metal bleachers going up, and much red carpet being unrolled.  The current stars these days would be arriving soon, but the stars from all the years before haunt the place.

The silver ladies who great you at the Welcome to Hollywood pavilion, La Brea and Hollywood Boulevard –

Angelyne always welcomes you –

And Frank's daughter is lurking in the bushes –

Across the street at Hollywood High, the famous alumni, Judy and Rudi, keep an eye on things –

The classics above a local souvenir shop –

Okay – shots of Hollywood men –

And that movie premiere –

A comment on it all –

The lenses used are (1) AF-S Nikkor 18-70 mm 1:35-4.5G ED, or (2) AF Nikkor 70-300 mm telephoto, or (3) AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 55-200 mm f/4-5.6G ED. Photography here is modified for web posting using Adobe Photoshop 7.0.  The earliest photography in the archives was done with a Sony Mavica digital still camera (MVC-FD-88) with built-in digital zoom.
