You might remember that 1976 Eagles album Hotel California and the final cut on side two, The Last Resort – all about restlessly moving on, trying to find the perfect place, and the right way to be. You finally find yourself in California, as far west as you can go. There's no more new frontier, as the song goes, and you cannot reinvent yourself any more than you have. This is it. You can tell yourself this place is wonderful, and decide you're happy. But as the song goes, call someplace paradise, kiss it goodbye.
