Tuesday, February 2, 2010 – Hollywood Power
Hollywood is an insular, self-congratulatory place, quite smug in its own way, thus this new windmill sculpture on the northeast corner of La Brea and Fountain – "Hollywood: The Power to Inspire." The place is actually about people with severe narcissistic ego disorders making obscene amounts of money – but this cover story will do.

Above the sculpture a billboard for the vanity-production movie Valentine's Day – easy work, cameos by all the big stars, somewhat like the old television show Hollywood Squares. Much of it was shot on location on Hollywood Boulevard last August.
