Saturday, January 16, 2010 – Before the Rain

El Niño is back. The rains come late Sunday night – a week of heavy rain in Los Angeles, for the first time in five years. But before the rain, in a small park off Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills, Zantedeschia aethiopica – arum lily, also known as Calla Lily –

Common daylily, of the yellow sort, thus Hemerocallis lilioasphodelus –
