Thursday, October 29, 2009 – Empty Lot Art
Empty lots don't stay empty on the east end of Sunset Boulevard. This one, on Sunset Boulevard near Sanborn, had been enclosed by a chain link fence. Someone ripped that open and the homeless have been camping there. But any empty lot also gets murals. Consider it what the French architects of the Second Empire used to term horror Vacui – the fear of unadorned surfaces.
