You're not in Kansas anymore. Get over it. This is the Hare Krishna Community – specifically the Hare Krishna New Dwarka Community – at 1764 Watseka Avenue in Culver City, at Venice Boulevard – His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada the founder and Acharya of the movement. You can visit its Bhagavad-Gita Museum or catch lunch at its vegetarian restaurant. You'll feel calm.
Of course this sort of thing was big in the sixties – but these folks were around before the Beatles and Donavan and all those folks were jetting off to India looking for enlightenment, and publicity. But after everyone trendy moved on, the Hare Krishna folks kept on being simply who they are. And with the world tumbling toward a final conflict between Islam and Christianity, with Israel and Judaism in the balance, and folks talking about the End Times with glee, it's nice to have them around.
