The new all-glass Technicolor building sits at 6040 Sunset Boulevard on the northeast corner of the Sunset Gower Studios lot between Gower and Gordon. Technicolor once ruled Hollywood with saturated levels of color, as in The Wizard of Oz and Singin' in the Rain, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Fantasia. But in the digital world they've had to adapt they do lots more than color processing now. Still, all the color in the world seems to come from here. And at the crumbling abandoned restaurant across the street someone doesn't like that. This woman stares at the Technicolor building all day and all night. There are other ways of seeing color.
And they don't belong here anyway the Technicolor Motion Picture Corporation was founded in Boston in 1914 and incorporated in Maine in 1915, and it was chartered in Delaware in 1921. And, since 2001, Technicolor has been part of the French electronics and media conglomerate Thomson and the name of Thomson Group was changed to "Technicolor" as of February 1, 2010, re-branding the entire company. A Hollywood institution, indeed
