Monday, May 18, 2009 – Olive Hill
When Frank Lloyd Wright built the 1921 Hollyhock House on Olive Hill, now Barnsdall Park, Hollywood Boulevard at Vermont, he planned a theater community for the thirty-six acre site. The hill is now an arts community, somewhat as planned. And the views are amazing – but he didn't see them. The Hollywood sign went up in 1923, and the Griffith Park Observatory in the early thirties.
