You remember the problem Odysseus had with the Sirens. You'd be sailing along minding your own business, just trying to get home, and there'd be these seductive ladies on the nearby rocks singing away – singing songs no man could resist – and they'd lure sailors to their death on those rocks. It was a bit of a lesson about distracted driving – an early form of Driver-Ed. Keep your eyes on the road and pay attention. Don't look. Don't listen. Just drive – or sail on, as the case may be.
Or it was a bit of a lesson in how dangerous pretty women are – an allegory about how a sexy woman could destroy any man. Either reading will do.
It's the same on Sunset Boulevard at Occidental – there are sirens not far from Dodger Stadium, distracting folks just trying to get home. Don't look. Don't listen. Just drive.
