A hazy early December afternoon on Hollywood Boulevard and it's back, the wreath at the Guaranty Building, the old Beaux Arts office building built in 1923, designed by John C. Austin, but now the headquarters of the Scientology folks' international operations. Do they do Christmas? And why is it sunny and in the mid-seventies where's the crisp air and the hint of snow on the way and all that? Everything out here is surreal.
